I am sick of writing about Lynn Henning. You are tired of reading about Lynn Henning. But the DSR just can’t ignore the lunacy/lying of the News baseball writer any more than TMZ can neglect to cover a photo of Lindsay Lohan’s cooch while the actress is coming out of a limousine.
And not in a million years could I turn a blind eye to this latest episode. This is what the dementia patient stated on Twitter last night in response to a needle about Joba Chamberlain’s $1 million contract — approximately $49 million less than Henning predicted.
Ok. So Chamberlain had a better HISTORY than Andrew Miller going into 2014?
In 2012, Miller had a FIP of 3.17 and a WHIP of 1.19. Chamberlain? FIP of 4.01 and a WHIP of 1.55.
In 2013, Miller had a FIP of 3.015 and a WHIP of 1.37. Chamberlain? FIP of 5.64 and a WHIP of 1.74.
Any success Chamberlain had enjoyed in his career — and there wasn’t much of that at all — occurred PRIOR to the slob having Tommy John surgery.
Meanwhile, the 2006 first-round pick of the Tigers had developed into a very nice bullpen piece.
But fuck statistics. Here are some Tweets from Henning AFTER the Tigers signed Chamberlain LAST YEAR.
Why Tigers’ interest in Joba Chamberlain would be their most confusing pursuit of the off-season: WHIPs the past two years: 1.55, 1.74. — Lynn G. Henning (@Lynn_Henning) December 12, 2013
@BarnesdaJMU David: We have yet to hear sound explanations for how Chamberlain could become part of the Tigers galaxy. I can’t imagine any. — Lynn G. Henning (@Lynn_Henning) December 12, 2013
@dzstrmvet DZS: I don’t like the Chamberlain signing. But they’re not slashing payroll. It was bound to hit a ceiling. And has. Inevitable. — Lynn G. Henning (@Lynn_Henning) December 13, 2013
@franchise_tdp Still cannot understand the Joba Chamberlain signing — no. Still expect Dombrowski to add another reliever. Has to … — Lynn G. Henning (@Lynn_Henning) December 21, 2013
Tigers are banking on Chamberlain’s K-per-inning fastball; better slider 2 years after TJ surgery; and fewer walks. That’s a lot of banking. — Lynn G. Henning (@Lynn_Henning) December 13, 2013
Now, let’s re-visit last night’s missives from this nut job:
On December 12, 2013 ……
Why Tigers’ interest in Joba Chamberlain would be their most confusing pursuit of the off-season: WHIPs the past two years: 1.55, 1.74.
On February 26, 2015 ……
And, in early June, Chamberlain — who had a better history — had better numbers. Doesn’t matter to someone.
Can you imagine dying on this hill — when there is evidence that completely contradicts the point you are trying to make — simply because you cannot admit you were WRONG?
Oh, yeah. I am the PATHOLOGICAL one.
And if you think that, due to the above insanity, the voters got it wrong in awarding the 2015 Worst Detroit Sports Media Personality title to Scott Anderson instead of this delusional windbag, “The Virginal Manatee” counterpunched …..
@JeffMossDSR Gator said Cabrera will be good until last couple of years of his deal & he won’t be let down if this group never wins a WS.

Obviously, neither of the combatants heard the bell.
Update as of February 27th at 5:00pm
After this article dropped, one of the DSR’s loyal readers, Mihir Bhatnagar, decided to fuck with Senile Henning. You might know Mihir from his bombing of a Ryan Ermanni live remote with a “Fafafooey”… We like to refer to the 19-year-old Michigan student as an “Extreme Fan” and not a Wack Pack member. Anyway, after getting blocked by Henning for the Twitter exchange above, Mihir decided to email the kook and feign like he didn’t know who Jiff Myst was. Enjoy ….. CLICK TO ENLARGE Some of my favorite Henning quotes from that missive?
Am very sorry, but unfortunately, we deal with a constant heckler and hassler who uses bogus accounts to conceal his attacks, and given the focus on the Chamberlain issue, I assumed it was him. And I hope you’ll forgive me. This guy we’re talking about uses every trick he can to sabotage us. He’s a person in need of help. I simply, and wrongly, concluded he was using your account.
Tigers are done with Joel Zumaya. Other teams are lining up for him. Wrote about the clash in this Detroit News column:http://t.co/u4k9K2x2 — Lynn G. Henning (@Lynn_Henning) December 15, 2011
Biggest off-season mistake by Tigers: Not signing Zumaya. Twins aren’t stupid. Did their homework. Made a potential steal. Smart investment. — Lynn G. Henning (@Lynn_Henning) January 16, 2012
RT @steveklein I thought Zumaya was worth one more try. Now watch the Twins get lucky … Terry Ryan’s back running the Twins. Typical Ryan. — Lynn G. Henning (@Lynn_Henning) January 16, 2012
Doctors didn’t forecast Zumaya’s torn UCL. Some fans who are medical experts did. Zumaya, is 27, should have Tommy J. surgery and return. — Lynn G. Henning (@Lynn_Henning) February 27, 2012
And a year from now, when Zumaya’s recovered from Tommy John, some smart team ought to sign him — that is, if doctors and not fans rule. — Lynn G. Henning (@Lynn_Henning) February 27, 2012
Different fate, and the same hacks who drool venom over Zumaya are the same snipers who would riddle the Tigers for not having signed him.. — Lynn G. Henning (@Lynn_Henning) February 27, 2012
If you are as senile as Henning, let me remind you what occurred after Zumaya signed with the Twins. He threw like two pitches in a bullpen session, got hurt and retired.
Hahahhahahahahhahaa.
Have a nice weekend, everyone!!!!!
