The moment of truth is nearly upon us. In a few days, the DSR’s 2015 Detroit Worst Sports Media Personality tournament will commence as 64 worthy opponents attempt to reach the Fucked-Up 4 and a date with destiny.

“Destiny” meaning future, fate and fortune — not the hooker Dan Leach fucked last night at his Super 8 Motel room.

What moron, slob, patsy, Uncle Tom or shill will join past winners Michael “The Nebbish” Rosenberg and Terry “Five-Tool Imbecile” Foster on the Horse’s Ass trophy?

That process will begin on Thursday. In the meantime, here is your chance to fill out a bracket for a wonderful prize package that includes:

1) Four tickets to a 2015 Detroit Tigers game at Comerica Park.

2) An Amazon Gift Card.

3) A free-roll entry into the 2015 DSR Fantasy Football League with a chance to win a substantial cash prize.

The point system is the same one ESPN utilizes for the NCAA Men’s Basketball tourney …

Without further ado, here is the bracket …..

Please note the following:

1) The overall #1 seed in the tournament is Lynn Henning of the Detroit News.

2) The biggest debate the committee has ever had was over the final #1 seed — which went to Chris McCosky over Vincent Goodwill. There were really five #1 seeds because ….

3) We changed the bracket and included a “You Should Know Better” regional which is best personified by the #1 seed, Bob Wojnowski, and the #2 seed, Dan Miller, in that bracket.

We graded on a curve and — due to the committee’s belief that these two gentlemen are the biggest disappointments relative to intelligence, power and their overall ability to make a difference in the market — they received their seeding accordingly.

Because, for whatever reason (laziness, comfort or blind loyalties), they continually refuse to do the right thing.

Over the next couple of days, we will release various tournament previews, official odds and even a special Podcast with Justin “@DarkoStateNews” Spiro and me breaking down the bracket.

Because of attempted sabotage during the play-in voting, we have made a substantial change to the process. All voting will be held on the DSR’s Facebook page. If you would like to participate in determining the match-up results, you will have to join the group by clicking here.

This is the only way we can guarantee someone doesn’t attempt to rig the outcome — which almost occurred in the Blogger Play-In Match-Up.

Don’t worry, when the tournament is finished you can just leave the group. We aren’t Scientologists.
