“I trust Delmon (Young) more than Prince (Fielder) with RISP.”
Gregg Henson (@GreggHenson)
Now, to be fair, the MMQOTD usually is reserved for members of the Detroit Sports Media, but this quote is just too good to pass up. Also, it was posted on June 10th and I wasn’t alerted about it until today.
It hasn’t been a very good week for the former WDFN and WXYT on-air personality and Program Director. We learned late yesterday (H/T @JFunk2800) that Henson lost his on-air gig (3 to 6pm) at WOWO in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
It would seem that this right-wing loser who despises President Obama and thinks he is a socialist wasn’t conservative enough for the Tea Party audience of WOWO and they pressured Henson’s boss into getting rid of him. We will say this for Henson, of the 82 ways he has lost radio gigs, this is the most bizarre if true.
Anyway, back to the quote about Delmon Young being more clutch with Runners in Scoring Position than Prince Fielder.
This season, Delmon Young has a .275 batting average and .662 OPS with RISP.
Prince Fielder? A .400 batting average and OPS of 1.035 with RISP.
As a matter of fact, Prince Fielder is one of the best hitters in ALL OF BASEBALL with ducks on the pond. WHILE, Delmon Young is pretty damn lousy in that situation.
Now that the Tea Baggers have run Henson off the radio dial, I wonder if Sabermetric geeks can call this shitbag’s boss and run him from his programming job as well for this HORRIBLE TAKE that can easily be dispelled with a simple trip to FanGraphs.com.
What a fucking moron. Same as it ever was.
