In the most predictable result since Ronald Reagan’s landslide victory over Walter Mondale in the 1984 Presidential election, unrepentant plagiarist Drew Sharp cruised his way to the 2016 Worst Detroit Media Personality championship with an easy 86% to 14% victory over Terry Foster.

The prohibitive favorite entering this tourney — one sportsbook had Sharp as a 1 to 50 favorite — crushed his six opponents on his way to an emphatic victory. The Final, versus 2014 M.L. Curly trophy winner Foster, was a laugher from the minute the match started and was NOTHING more than a coronation.

Sharp’s best previous performance in this tournament was a Fucked-Up Four appearance in 2015 but he never was considered a viable title contender because it was thought that the douche bag troll would probably revel in victory.

That all changed this past Christmas Eve when this website broke the news that Sharp had plagiarized from a eunuch blogger and Sharp refused to publicly apologize or even admit to the theft.

The man is human debris and definitely deserved this title. In fact, this win was such a fait accompli that the committee considered banning him from the bracket because his championship was so inevitable.

But in the end, the DSR elite decided that a predictable champion had to be crowned for historical purposes.

Foster once again had an incredible showing; he now has reached the final game in three of the four years we have run this tournament. His upset victory over Lynn Henning in the Fucked-Up Four was a tourney highlight and the Five-Tool Imbecile doesn’t have to lower his head in shame over this defeat.

Now, the only thing left is the delivery of the Horse’s Ass trophy to Sharp (which we will live Periscope when it occurs). Hopefully, Sharp will worry about this public humiliation every single time he leaves his house from now until the presentation commences. It’s going to be great.

We will see you next February when we do this all again. Hopefully there will be a little more drama next year.

In the meantime, Johnny Avello of the Wynn Las Vegas has set Anthony Fenech as the early favorite at odds of 12 to 1.

Thanks to everyone for participating as we had record voter turnout.

To close out this wonderful tourney, let’s watch the Foster and Scott Anderson trophy presentations …..
