Matt Dery Can Help You Win at Your Workplace!!!!

It seems that everyone associated with Detroit Sports 105.1-FM has a side gig, which probably isn’t a bad idea when your ratings in the last book were a POINT EIGHT.

For example, Ryan Ermanni also works at Fox-2. Rico Beard has a gig at something called SpartanMag. Tom Mazawey augments his producer salary by shopping for groceries for the elderly and by unwinding kids. Substitute host Rob Parker sells stale hot dogs. Drew Sharp steals bloggers’ copy and claims it as his own at the Freep.

And yes, even our favorite backstabbing scumbag Matt Dery has a side project. No, not that “Bowling for Dollars” remake calamity.

Before we get to Ratt Dreary’s secondary venture, let me take you back to the “Deez’s” comments on the “Dery and Sharp” program from Wednesday afternoon.

As I am sure you are aware by now, the DSR is currently embroiled in a Fatwa against Sharp’s employers because they refuse to publicly address the disingenuous troll’s theft of David Harns’ work.

Part of this jihad has included recommending that DSR readers call up Sharp’s show and ask questions about his plagiarism scandal. This has been going on sporadically now for a couple of weeks and yesterday Dery finally had had it with our protest ….

Can I say something real fast? Let me say something real fast, alright? Enough. Cut it out with the prank calls. Alright? Nobody wants to say anything …  I will. It’s an internal matter between Drew, the Free Press and everybody else. It’s over with. It’s been handled. We’re moving on. Cut it out. Enough.”

First of all, they aren’t prank calls. They are attempts to get YOUR radio station to address the fact that you employ an unrepentant plagiarist. Secondly, it’s NOT an internal matter, you duplicitous company man.

Your radio partner committed the equivalent of a journalistic felony and your employer has DONE NOTHING. The Freep has refused to answer any questions regarding the matter. Your station’s contribution to his punishment was to guffaw about wearing “Drew’s Back” t-shirts when he returned from his unexplained absence.

It hasn’t been handled. It’s NOT OVER. And to insult our intelligence by saying Sharp’s ethical breach is an INTERNAL MATTER is so insulting that I wouldn’t even know where to begin in addressing that fucking ridiculous assertion.

The Detroit Free Press is a public trust, not a nebulous entity in corporate America. He didn’t copy a fellow employee’s work from a cubicle at Plante Moran!!!!

On a side note, Dery is a Howard Stern acolyte. Does he not realize that he is essentially siding with the likes of Jonah Falcon and Steve Langford over Sal Governale, Richard Christy and Sour Shoes?

Anyway, Ratt’s reaction obviously didn’t sit well with me and I am now offering $50 gift cards to anyone who loudly insults Sharp at a future live remote. Yep, the first five DSR readers who “bomb” Sharp for his thievery and send me the video with excellent audio and video quality will receive a $50 gift card from Best Buy. Or an American Express gift card if you prefer.

Yep, we have put a bounty out for Drew Sharp.

But that’s not all. Ever since Dery and Sharp replaced Drew Lane at 105.1 and Sean Baligian took over Dery’s old mid-afternoon time slot, I have been waiting to drop this nuke.

You see, program director Dave Shore’s brilliant plan to get WMGC’s ratings out of the gutter was this asinine crosstalk bit where overlapping hosts yenta it up in between shifts.

So Baligian and Dery are forced to banter for a few minutes when Sean signs off at 3pm to make way for the dude who was fired from being a glorified update guy at 97.1 and his plagiarist co-host.

The thing is though, Dery has no respect for Baligian. He can’t stand the guy. Thinks he is a “loser” and a “con man.” How do I know this?

Because when Dery and I were on speaking terms, he used to regularly Direct Message and email me. You’ve probably seen some of these on Twitter where he mocks Michael RosenbergPat Caputo, Mark Snyder or Jon Paul Morosi.

But the knives used to really come out when he’d talk about Sean Baligian. The guy he now is compelled to do this “Crosstalk” schtick with five times a week.

Here is a sampling of Dery’s thoughts regarding his current co-worker ….

Yikes. I may or may not have also posted those messages on Baligian’s Facebook page last night. Oh, who am I kidding!!!?? Of course I did. Well that should be an interesting “Crosstalk” segment this afternoon.

After 738 words you are probably asking yourself how this ties into Matt Dery’s moonlighting gig. Good question, my degenerate audience!!! Here’s how …..

Dery has a website. And on that website, Dery offers the following service …..

Is morale down at work?!?!?!?!?!
Is morale down at work!?!?!!?!?!?

Hahahhhaha. Have you picked yourself up off the floor yet? Matt Dery wants to teach you how to have better camaraderie in the workplace.

“If your work environment needs fixing Matt Dery is the man you need to bring in to speak to your leadership team.”

Well, I know of one workplace that probably needs Dery’s unique gifts right about now …..

Some days this websight™ (Terry Foster) just writes itself. I am on freaking auto-pilot here.

So, if you want to mix it up a little when you call into the Dery and Sharp program, feel free to ask Diesel how Sean conned Dan Miller. Not every question has to be about Sharp’s plagiarism.

Allah Akbar!!!!!!
