As evidenced by today’s events, there is never a dull moment at the DSR. If you don’t follow me on Twitter, here is a quick update of what occurred.

Ryan Schuilling — formerly of WBBL 107.3 FM in Grand Rapids — started a new gig this afternoon in Lansing at 92.1 FM “The Team.” It’s a fairly new sports station that is anchored by longtime Lansing sports personality Jack Ebling. 

I was asked by Schuilling — also the radio voice of the West Michigan Whitecaps — to appear on his debut show and every Monday thereafter for one bombastic segment. I was more than happy to oblige as Ryan is one of the members of the media who gets it, whether we are talking advanced metrics, bought-and-paid-for journalists or why the DSR is actually a needed entity in Detroit.

Now, this wasn’t my first rodeo with Schuilling. I used to make regular appearances on his Grand Rapids morning show until I was BANNED from appearing by station management.

Why was I cockblocked from guest spots on WBBL? Well, you might remember that last autumn this website was breaking news all over the place about Jim Harbaugh’s future in Ann Arbor.

Schuilling’s co-worker — and PM drive host at 107.3 — Bill Simonson took umbrage with my reporting. He thought I was just making this crap up.

Of course, I don’t let any slight go unanswered so I absolutely annihilated “Huge” on this website. Look, I went to the Israeli school of retaliation. You kill one Jew, we kill 50 Palestinians. I am not saying it is right, but it’s my M.O.

Because Simonson is a schoolyard bully who can’t handle someone standing up to him, he went to station management and ordered that I never appear on WBBL ever again. And that was that.

…Until today when Schuilling was on a new station that wasn’t affiliated with Simonson and I finally had my chance at revenge on Biff Tannen for getting me kicked off the Grand Rapids airwaves.

So I nuked Simonson by basically regurgitating much of what I posted in that December 17, 2014 expose. And guess what? Simonson — being the tin-eared loser that he is — was listening live to his annihilation.

How do I know this? Because he actually called into 92.1 management and complained about my appearance!!!!! I shit you not.

Let me repeat that for you. SIMONSON CALLED STATION MANAGEMENT TO CRY ABOUT ME BOMBING HIM ON THE AIR!!!!!

Simonson was particularly perturbed that I mentioned his children’s names on the air. I am sorry, it’s hard for me to pass on mentioning a family that includes a Huge, an Ace and a Legend. Of course, this doesn’t reflect on his SONS at all. They didn’t name themselves!!!!

Not to mention that the only reason anyone knows the names of his offspring is because he mentioned them on HIS radio program.

As I said on the radio, I would like to discuss the psychiatric profile of someone who nicknamed HIMSELF “Huge” and named his kids Legend and Ace with Dr. Drew Pinsky. 

Actually, here is the entire medical chart …

I am sure this litigious meathead threatened WBBL with some sort of bullshit lawsuit if they didn’t take the audio of my segment down from their Soundcloud page because it mysteriously disappeared just minutes after being posted.

Luckily, I had a strange feeling that some nonsense like this would occur so I had my staff record the interview for our own purposes.

So, here you go …..

Just when I thought the day couldn’t get any more bizarre, I was advised by my followers that Simonson was on his radio program discussing the DSR. But he wasn’t attacking me for my Lansing appearance, he was discussing Justin Spiro’s exclusive story regarding the Dave Dombrowski/Mike Ilitch divorce!!!!

What!???!??! The guy got off the phone after whining to the 92.1 PD about me and then went on his airwaves and started giving credence to Spiro’s story?

Folks, that is some Margot Kidder hiding on your front lawn behind some shrubs next-level batshit craziness, right there.

But wait people, there is more nuttiness. The DSR’s Mihir “King of All Direct Messages” Bhatnagar contacted Simonson through Twitter on his fake Jerry Green account and elicited this response:

Wait a second. Simonson’s defense of calling an African-American college football head coach “Buckwheat” is that he did not call him Buckwheat but just said he TALKED like Buckwheat??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??

Ok, ok, ok. Peter Funt and Dina Eastwood, you can come out from around the corner now. You got me.

I am really at a loss for words.

Meanwhile, I have been told that I will still be allowed to appear on Mondays with Schuilling. I guess it’s going to take more than this incident to napalm that bridge.

Furthermore, I am not going to have any issue with Simonson in the future because I don’t plan on discussing him.

He is not a part of the Detroit radio market and is irrelevant to me. Unless he wants to continue this and we can start discussing the In Cahoots bar or Remington Park race course.

But if you attack me and get me banned from making appearances publicizing this website on the station that employs you….  you can expect me to retaliate.
