You’ve been waiting a year for this day to come. The discussions have been taking place for months. And now it is upon us … the DSR’s Worst Sports Media Personality commences now!!!!!

You’ve entered your bracket for huge prizes. You’ve read all of the Pros and Cons of the 64 entrants — 56 automatic bids and 8 play-in winners — and you’ve read our Gambler’s Guide.

Now it’s time for you to vote on these wonderful match-ups. Before we get to the polls, though, a couple points of clarification ….

1) The website has decided to hold ALL voting on the DSR’s Facebook page. You will have to join the group to vote. This has been done so no one can sabotage the system.

During one of the play-in tournaments, we learned that the PollDaddy software we were using was susceptible to chicanery. To vote more than once, all you had to do was clear your cookies and website data. This led to an incident where someone attempted to get Brian Cook of MGoBlog into the bracket through shenanigans.

(We are operating under the working theory that the culprit was actually Brian Cook.)

We won’t stand for it. This tournament is sacrosanct to our community and this kind of bullshit will not be tolerated.

Will this exclusive balloting process cost us overall votes? Yes, but we can guarantee the winner of this historic event will be legitimate. We aren’t some Banana Republic, folks.

2) In the past, there have been accusations that I have manipulated the tournament for my own benefit. This complaint was of course made by Terry Foster —  the runner-up in 2012 and the winner in 2014.

The committee went out of its way to make sure that everything was above board. And while I think Lynn Henning is a prohibitive favorite to take the crown, we have made his path to victory extremely difficult.

In fact, the region where Henning is the #1 seed has been labeled “El Soporte de la Muerte.”

The Bracket of Death.

The #2 seed in that bracket (Vincent Goodwill) SHOULD be a #1 seed. The #3 seed (Pat Caputo) has already made one “Fucked-Up Four” and had another banner year of idiocy in 2014. The #4 seed is Foster, for Christ’s sake.

Hell, even Henning’s first-round opponent is a #16 seed with a puncher’s chance — due to Mike Valenti’s popularity among Michigan Wolverine fans.

If Lynn wins this tournament he will have gone through a gauntlet the likes of which no one has ever had to overcome. So there should be no accusations that the “Diaper Rash Gang” rigged this thing against him.

3) When voting you should only consider the personality’s 2014 performance. This isn’t a lifetime achievement award like back in 2012. We are doing this every year now and only the past twelve months of stupidity should be weighed.
