Normally, I absolutely despise the “Comment” section of newspaper websites. The “readers write” section below most articles is a toxic wasteland inhabited by a collection homophobes, racists and people usually to the right of Rush Limbaugh and Genghis Khan.

I try to avoid those posts on the websites I peruse, but the one glaring exception is every Friday morning after the Detroit Free Press posts another one of Mitch Albom’s “Dr. Football” atrocities against mankind. Those awesome reader responses are like Christmas morning to me.

I am not going to lie to you good folks, I am completely obsessed with this saga. This is the site’s fifth post regarding “Condescending Baggins'” mail-it-in, unfunny, not clever, holocaust of a column format and yet I feel I have been slacking in my duties to chronicle the continued abomination.

As I reported exclusively on the DetroitSportsRag, Albom is writing these columns because he has a quota of articles due to the Freep by the end of the year and these embarrassments take all of about 90 seconds to write.

Each Friday, Albom — once considered the best sportswriter in the country — further humiliates himself both locally and nationally and provides us a glimpse into the warped mind of a stubborn narcissist who doesn’t give a rat’s ass about either his audience or his primary employer.
