Well, folks, …. against all odds, Terry Foster’s latest restaurant venture, Mariachi’s Cantina, opened the other day in Chesterfield Township. Well, Foster CLAIMS that he has some stake in this joint, but we will get to that later.
Here was Foster’s grand announcement on Twitter …….
Mariachi’s Cantina will open in about two hours on 23 Mile road between I-94 and Gratiot. Hope to see you there

After weeks of delays, this Tex-Mex establishment finally opened. And it’s fancy, let me tell ya. Check out their signage.
Anyway, the point of this article is to call out Foster on ANOTHER lie he is telling people. Because, ya know, the truth is about as foreign to him as proper grammar.
@dtmsez we have a new person he could not wait for the place to open

I thought it was quite odd that the manager couldn’t wait just a couple more days for Mariachi’s Cantina to open since he had ALREADY waited about seven weeks. What was a few days more going to matter?
Well, here is a Facebook post from the manager Robert Rasch; you can see Foster is flat-out lying about the reason that Rasch quit.
“I will not put my name & reputation on this restaurant. I have to (sic) much passion for the restaurant field.”
Well, that seemed to be quite a different story than the bullshit Foster was trying to sell, so I did what any good journalist would do …..
I contacted the poor guy for an interview. Here is what I found out from the ex-manager of Mariachi’s Cantina.
So, why did you quit before the restaurant opened?
When u do not pay on time, I move on. Took almost three weeks to get paid in full for working all of November. I was to be paid every Friday, not one week after they opened.
So they are already having major issues.
There have been. Brian (the co-owner) had to pay me out of his pocket.
Does Foster have any real interest in this joint?
I do not think he does, he’s just a friend of Ryan’s (the other co-owner and the “brains” behind Foster’s Smokehouse)
Was this place originally supposed to be another smokehouse?
No. Ryan and Terry’s last place was called Foster’s [and] closed after [a few] months. A lot of people [weren’t] paid, just like here.
So what else can you tell me?
I have opened over 20 restaurants and have never been screwed …. [T]his place is in trouble. Two owners and [neither have] restaurant background.
Well, none of THAT sounds very promising. As reported here previously, Foster is going for the rare trifecta of failed food service establishments on the East Side.
First, you had Candy Express …..
….. then there was Foster’s Smokehouse.
And now Mariachi’s Cantina, which will be lucky to still be in business by Tigers’ Opening Day.
The only question is whether this place even qualifies since the ex-manager doesn’t think Foster has any involvement other than “The Truth” spamming people about it on his Twitter account.
