Jim Leyland Tells Us That Keeping Berry Out of the Lineup Isn’t Difficult

The above video is from Jim Leyland’s post game presser/nosh session courtesy of the Fox Sports Detroit broadcast. I am posting this because of Cancer Stick’s insecure and asinine response to 97.1 – The Ticket’s, Jeff Riger, regarding Quintin Berry playing more regularly after the speedy outfielder went 5-for-5, stole a base and caused a balk by a Rockies pitcher on Sunday.

Here is the back-and-forth between Emaciated Grossness and Kermit the Riger:

Kermit: “With, with, Berry, it’s making it, you, pretty, it is making it tough [interrupted by Leyland gibberish] for you to keep him out of the lineup.”

Leyland: “Not really …. not really …. not really …….. not really.  We’ll have the best lineup on the field.  [Garble. Garble] We’ll have the best lineup on the field.”

This insecure piece of trash actually just told you that it isn’t difficult to keep Quintin Berry out of the lineup.

The same Quintin Berry who currently has a .409 on-base percentage.

The same Quintin Berry who currently has an .845 OPS.

The same Quintin Berry who currently has nine stolen bases.  On nine attempts.

But for this career UNDER .500 manager, it isn’t difficult to keep THAT guy out of the lineup at all.

Even though, the other two options Leyland has at the moment, Don Kelly and Ryan Raburn, have a COMBINED OPS that is only slightly better than Quintin Berry’s.

Nor do they possess the speed or defensive range of Quintin Berry.

But it isn’t difficult for this relic of a manager to keep Quintin Berry out of the Tigers lineup.  Because, ya know, OPS and OBP are “geek stuff.”

If I didn’t have the video clip to prove this comment to you, I wouldn’t expect you to believe me.

To put this in perspective, Berry has four more hits than Raburn in 58 LESS at bats.

But for this disgusting slob who provides post game press conferences with his MOUTH FULL, it isn’t hard to keep Berry out of the lineup.

You know what occurred on Sunday? Quintin Berry SHOWED Jim Leyland up by collecting five hits.  THAT is why Leyland interrupted Riger’s question before he could even get it out.

It is also why he once again ended his presser/dinner with this quote:

“But, trust me when I tell you, we’ll have the best team on the field.”

Why start now, IDIOT?
