I am not going to lie to you.  I don’t like Ryan Ermanni.  I think he is a bad guy and whenever I have a chance to bury this shitbag, I will do so.

My dislike of the Fox-2 sports reporter (and fired WDFN talk show host) started a few years ago after this douche bag had mostly remained off my radar.

Remember the game between the Vikings and the New York Giants back in December of 2010 that was played at Ford Field after the Metrodome roof imploded after a blizzard in Minnesota?

Do you recall that the NFL gave away free tickets to that matchup which was eventually played in Detroit?

Well, the night of the game a few scalpers decided to try to make a quick buck off the event by scooping up the tickets and the selling them to fans.

Spidermanni came to the rescue of Detroiters everywhere though that night by taking on the big, bad ticket brokers as he engaged them in arguments in the worst sort of TV news “journalism” you can imagine.

I want you to watch the below video and notice that ALL of the scalpers are African-American, the one family he interviewed about this “crime against humanity” was Caucasian and FINALLY that he ends his report by saying that tickets are still available so come on down.   Which, ya know, kind of defeats his WHOLE STORY about the scalpers since FREE tickets were still available at the LIONS BOX OFFICE!!!!

Ermanni Bullies Some Black Dudes

What a fucking grandstanding buffoon.   He didn’t seem to mind “shaming” those scalpers on TELEVISION so I don’t feel the least bit guilty doing what I am about to do.

Then there was the time on Facebook when one of his friends thought I was black so he called me a “spear chucker” and the N-Word while Ermanni idly sat by and did nothing.  Except block people from his page that were calling him out on it.

Not to mention the day that Ermanni got into it with another DSR correspondent and F-bombed the hell out of him in front of a Fox-2 News truck as little kids left Comerica Park after a Tigers game.  And of course there was the time he called anyone associated with the DSR “fags” in the restroom at Joe Louis Arena.

Did I tell you about his racist post regarding Mike Duggan not being able to run for the Mayor of Detroit (at least on the ballot) which he quickly deleted when I called him on it?  And just today his asinine congratulations to WDFN’s Matt Shepard on a HORRIBLE blog post Shepard wrote regarding the separation of Church and State which I will get to later in the week.

(I know this will come as a shock to you, but Ermanni and Shepard don’t believe in the separation of Church and State.)

So, what is the latest Ermanni news? Well, a source has informed the DSR of the circumstances that led to his divorce.

Now, while pretty much everyone associated at the DetroitSportsRag has a serious gambling problem, we all look like Sergeant Sarah Brown of the Save a Soul Mission in comparison to this guy.

According to the source, Ermanni got into some serious trouble with a bookie. According to our mole, the amount of money owed was in the neighborhood of $250,000.  That isn’t a typo and I didn’t put the comma in the wrong place.

The DSR informant went on to say that Ermanni didn’t have this kind of stew laying around so he had to borrow it from his brother’s wife’s family to avoid his limbs being separated from the rest of his person.

Supposedly things got so bad that Ermanni started taking days off at WDFN because he was afraid some tough guy might show up at the Clear Channel Compound.  Luckily for Ermanni, Fox-2 has a gated parking lot and a security guard out front manning the property so he could get to that gig with no worries of a Louisville Slugger greeting his kneecaps.

(I know about Fox-2’s security measures because I made a few appearances on Sportsworks a few years back.  Of course, Ermanni took credit for suggesting me to the producer of that program.  I am pretty sure it was Dan Miller though.  Still waiting for my next appearance …..)

And finally the source claims his gambling problem is what led his ex-wife to divorce him.

I can’t even imagine losing a quarter of a million dollars gambling.  Well, maybe over my lifetime, but not over a relatively short period of time.  But, I am guessing Ermanni figured he KNEW how to predict games and beat the vig because he was a  big-time sports reporter.

Just like the time Ermanni claimed he could hit at least .200 in Major League Baseball.

And he was SERIOUS.

I guess the only question left is if Ermanni likes ribs sans barbecue sauce and Coke.

(Ryan Ermanni was given an opportunity to comment on this article. As of 7:30pm tonight, he has not responded to our inquiry.)
